Across the world, certain dog breeds, including Pit Bulls, have faced bans and restrictions simply because humans never took the time to truly understand them. Fear travels quickly, while understanding takes patience.
Yet when people genuinely get to know these dogs, they discover something very different. They are intelligent, loyal, and deeply connected to the people who care for them.
Dogs cannot speak for themselves.
But through people, stories, and communities, their voices can still be heard.
Sometimes even something as simple as a cup of coffee can help carry that message forward.
Doorstep was never meant to be just another coffee brand.
It began with a simple belief that understanding should always be stronger than fear.
Every bottle of coffee represents more than craft and flavor. It represents a small step toward changing how people see the misunderstood.
With every 200g bottle of our coffee beans, you are not only enjoying great coffee. You are also helping spread awareness about dogs that have been unfairly judged.
The truth is simple. The right message is often harder to spread than the wrong one.
One of our signature blends is named Pit Bull, in honor of the founder’s own dog.
When he first sought help, no trainer in Malaysia seemed able to truly understand her behavior. Over time he realized something important. She did not simply need training. She needed rehabilitation, patience, and trust.
Through that journey something unexpected happened.
The dog did not just change.
She changed him.
During one of the most difficult periods of his life, the Pit Bull became a source of loyalty, grounding, and quiet strength. What began as a challenge slowly became a relationship that reshaped his perspective and eventually inspired a coffee journey that has now lasted more than thirteen years.
Despite common belief, Pit Bull is not a single breed.
The term is commonly used to describe several bully type dogs such as the American Pit Bull Terrier, American Staffordshire Terrier, Staffordshire Bull Terrier, and sometimes the American Bully.
Although these dogs are often portrayed negatively, people who truly understand them see something very different. They see resilience, intelligence, loyalty, and a remarkable bond with humans.
Like many things in life, they are often misunderstood not because of who they are, but because few people take the time to truly learn.
Doorstep began as a coffee journey.
Along the way it also became something more meaningful. It became a reminder that understanding requires patience and that compassion often begins with curiosity.
Changing perceptions does not always require a loud voice.
Sometimes it begins quietly with a conversation, a story, and a cup of coffee.
